Family Night 2012

In November, our kindergarten team hosted a family night.  Students from all five kindergarten classes participated in fun Dr. Seuss activities while parents worked with classroom teachers.  Tips for practicing sight words, letters, sounds, and reading were shared.  It was a fun night for all!

Storybook Character Day 2012

Last month our morning and afternoon kindergarten's dressed up as some of their favorite story book characters. Students brought books to match their costumes.  Friends got to share their books and costumes with one another during a stand-up, hand-up, pair-up activity.  These incredible costumes looked great!

Fire Safety

Mrs. Harris' kindergarten classes enjoyed a visit from the fire fighters.  We learned about fire safety and even got to sit inside the fire truck!  It was a real treat to have the Georgetown Fire Department visit our school!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Kindergarten students helped to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday last week. Each day students were encouraged to dress up in ways that related to many of our favorite Dr. Seuss' books. Monday was silly socks day from The Foot Book. Tuesday was hat day for The Cat in the Hat. Wednesday was mixed up clothes for Wacky Wednesday. Thursday was green day for Green Eggs and Ham. On Friday, the teachers wore "Thing One" shirts. It was a fun way to celebrate a favorite author.
